On Wednesday, June 7, Mater Christi School welcomed Father Michael Carter, SSE, to celebrate a special Mass. Our community gathered to honor the second-grade students who had received their First Holy Communion.
Guided by their guided by their teacher, Ms. Miranda McClellan, the second graders led Mass, including readings, psalm response, prayers of the faithful, and offertory. The First Communicants were dressed in the clothes that they had worn for their First Communion Masses in their parishes: white dresses with veils, and suits and ties.
Mrs. Mary Farley, Mrs. Lisa Raatikainen, and Mr. Jeff Firlik led our beautiful music, which included “Canticle of the Sun,” “Awesome God,” and “All Creatures of Our God and King.”
