Library

The Mater Christi library is the welcoming heart of our school community where all come to learn, discover, create, and connect. The library empowers students to be respectful, passionate seekers of ideas and be curious, lifelong readers.

In the MCS library, stories come to life and the magic of reading leads to discoveries beyond imagination. Through books, technology, reader’s theater, art, movement, music, faith and collaboration, the library is alive with storytelling and characters. School and classroom themes as well as organic topics that the children generate inspire the library curriculum. This year, there are two larger themes: Kindness/Mercy/Friendship that is school-wide in the fall (Kindness Bench project) and a PS-4th spring focus on how food/recipes bring families and communities together (with a special culminating project). In addition, each grade will be reading about and creating projects that let us learn, have fun, and simply enjoy the power of words and reading.
