The cross country team has long been a source of pride for Mater Christi School. Led by seasoned coach Mike Early, Mater Christi has seen the development of young runners who have been instrumental to the overall success of the program. On October 27, over 600 runners from across the state gathered to participate in the Vermont State Cross Country Championships in challenging weather conditions. In the girls race, Isabelle Lacy, grade 6, won the event with a four second lead. With additional support from top 15 medal winner Sego Johnson, and teammates Isabel Bloom, Eliza Cabot, Ella Knudsen, Emerson Knudsen, and Kate Larkin, the girls team claimed fourth place in the state for the fourth year in a row, an enormous achievement for this small school.
