Teacher Talk: Kindergarten “Bee-Bot Drive”

February 4, 2021

Mater Christi School kindergarten students each designed and built a building for their Bee-Bot community. The buildings are arranged around a special road for robots — “Bee-Bot Drive” — in the MCS elementary building lobby. Since returning from Christmas break, the kindergarteners have been coding in Bee-Bot, programming Bee-Bot and Blue-Bot robots to visit the buildings along Bee-Bot Drive. This process has helped students learn computer concepts such as frame of reference, decomposition of motion, sequential problem solving, and computational language. They are also practicing math skills including counting from 1-12 and mathematical language.
