President’s Perspective: Summer Plans

June 9, 2016

Dear Mater Christi Parents,

As the faculty and staff of Mater Christi prepare for the final day of school tomorrow I want to take this opportunity to thank you for placing your faith in our school over the past year. We are blessed that you chose to work in partnership with us for the benefit of your child(ren). Next week, I will be asking you to complete a satisfaction survey about your experience at Mater Christi this past year. It is a fairly comprehensive survey and your candid assessment and comments will be valued and used as we embark on a community-based strategic planning process in the fall. Please watch for an email next week that contains a link to this online survey. I hope you will take the time to share your reflections on the past year.

I will also be reaching out to you next week to seek your help with our Extreme School Makeover Project that will begin this summer and continue throughout the upcoming school year. Some of the priorities for the summer include beautification of our school grounds, as well as a few painting and cleaning projects in both our elementary and middle school buildings. I am hoping that you will be willing to lend a few hours over the next few months to help transform some spaces in our buildings that are in need of a little TLC and updating. More details will follow.

Finally, I want to let you know that our school office will be open normal hours June 13-17. From June 20-August 20 our school office will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 9 AM to 3 PM. Beginning on Monday, August 23 our school office will resume normal operating hours.

I will be here until next Friday, June 17 and will begin here on a full time basis beginning July 5. I will be at school Monday through Friday throughout July and August. Over the summer months, I will continue to communicate with you and keep you up-to-date about staffing and other pertinent news regarding the 2016-17 academic year.

Please know how much I’m looking forward to joining your community on a full-time basis and working with all of you to continue to foster a school that is rooted in mercy values and committed to excellence.

I hope that you and your family have a relaxing, enjoyable, and safe summer!

Pat Lofton, Ed.S
President

PS. Over the summer months, if you meet any families who are interested in learning more about our wonderful school, I encourage you to introduce them to us and we would love to give them a tour and share all the wonderful things that happen at Mater Christi!
