Seana Mancini

Middle School Literature Teacher

I grew up in Buffalo, NY, and attended Catholic elementary and middle schools. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English Writing and Political Science from SUNY Potsdam, where I had the  the pleasure of meeting my husband, Mr. Mancini, who was a graduate of Clarkson University. Afterward, I pursued my passion for education by earning an M.Ed. with a concentration on Middle School English from Canisius College in Buffalo. It was during this time that I married my husband, who was then a US Army Captain. He later retired from the military.

My career in education has spanned 27 years and given me the opportunity to teach in several public and parochial schools in North Carolina, Georgia, and New York State. While I have extensive experience teaching middle school, but have also spent eight years in early childhood program administration. I served as the founding director of the preschool at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia and then I co-developed the preschool program at St. Louis School in Pittsford, NY. I also spent several years working on the elementary level as a school library and reading coordinator. I hold a certificate in Gifted Education from UNC Charlotte and the College of North GA, but I must admit that I love teaching middle school the most.

One of my proudest moments was when Siena Catholic Academy in Rochester, NY, opened its first 6th-grade program and piloted a Google 1:1 program. I had the privilege of developing the Humanities program from scratch along with my STEM co-teacher. My husband and I are blessed with four wonderful children. Jack, our eldest, graduated from Syracuse University and now lives and works in Boston and coaches the Boston Latin crew team. Evan is a graduate of Stony Brook University, majoring in physics and applied mathematics and works in astro physics in Washington, DC. Our daughter Emma Kate, is a UVM alum and works in physical therapy in Boston, MA. Last but not least, Owen, our youngest, is a Mater Christi alum and is at Rice Memorial HS.
