Rowshan Nemazee
Board Member
Rowshan Nemazee is a retired Associate Professor from Champlain College in Burlington, where she taught interdisciplinary and social justice courses in the Humanities. Previous to that she was a visiting professor and lecturer at St. Michael’s College as well as at CCV, SUNY at Plattsburgh, and McGill University. She began her career with a focus on women and theology, and that led to a far wider reach that encompassed women and religion as well as other injustices in the contemporary social realm.
Rowshan received her B.A. in Religious Studies and World Literature from Trinity College of Vermont and her Master’s in Theology from McGill University in Montreal. Her Ph.D.in Church History and Feminist Theology was also from McGill. Since her Trinity days, Rowshan has kept in close touch with the Sisters of Mercy, is an active Associate of the Sisters and has served on the board of Mercy Connections.
Apart from her pedagogical interests – even in retirement – Rowshan is an avid reader, enjoys the theatre, music, concerts, and is always ready for a good movie. She currently resides in Shelburne.
