Fifth Graders Take History to the Streets of Boston!
On a rainy yet exhilarating spring day, all 37 of our fifth graders set off from Mater Christi School at 6:30 a.m. for a memorable journey to Boston—bringing their American Revolution studies to life in the heart of New England. Their adventure began at the iconic Old North Church, followed by a walking tour through the historic North End, where a sweet stop at Mike’s Pastry made the morning extra special. Students then traced the footsteps of patriots along the Freedom Trail, visiting powerful landmarks including the site of the Boston Massacre, the Old State House, the Granary Burial ... read more
May Crowning 2025
On Friday, May 2, 2025, we at Mater Christi School celebrated our annual May Crowning, a beloved Catholic tradition honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our first graders, from Mrs. Carrie Macedonia’s and Miss Sarah Bassett’s classes, confidently led the opening parts of Mass — an important leadership opportunity that ... read more

In Mrs. Bedard's language/literacy class, students chose an animal and researched important facts about its habitat, habits, and other details. Working with Mrs. Baker in the Art Studio, they then designed a coloring page that featured the animal. This lesson in artistic purpose and composition helped them to create an image appropriate for the coloring book format. With Mrs. Duell, they then took the information about their animal and translated it into ... read more
