Kara Safer

Preschool-8th Grade Music Teacher

I grew up in the Boston area and studied church music at Toccoa Falls College in Georgia. After graduating, I moved to Vermont, where I served as a church music director in Burlington for several years before earning a Master’s degree in music in England. When I returned to Vermont, I began my career in education, teaching music at schools in central Vermont and the Islands. In 2018, I had the amazing opportunity to move to Istanbul, Turkey, where I taught music while experiencing life in one of the world’s most vibrant and fascinating cities. Vermont eventually drew me back again, and I spent the next few years teaching music in Essex Junction. I’m excited to now be part of the wonderful MCS community! I love sharing my love of music with our students, nurturing their musical growth, and helping them discover the joy and creativity that music can bring!
