Kara Safer

K-8 Music Teacher

 

I grew up in the Boston area and studied church music at Toccoa Falls College in Georgia. After graduating, I moved to Vermont, where I served as a church music director in Burlington for several years before pursuing a Master’s degree in music in England. When I returned to Vermont, I transitioned into teaching and taught at schools in central Vermont and the Islands. In 2018 I moved to Istanbul, Turkey, where I had the amazing opportunity to teach music while living in a vibrant, fascinating city. Vermont drew me back again in 2021, and I spent the next few years teaching music in Essex Junction. I’m excited to now be part of the MCS community and look forward to nurturing students’ musical growth while inspiring them to love and enjoy music!

Hobbies

  • I love spending time outdoors walking, running and gardening. I also enjoy making music, reading, and traveling with my husband!
