I have lived in Williston, Vermont since I was nine months old and spent much of my childhood playing in the woods. My K-12 years were a mix of homeschooling and public school. I later studied acting for a year at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and, after a brief break, attended Saint Michael’s College, initially pursuing a degree in History, before I transferred to the University of Vermont and earned a Bachelors in Classics in the fall of 2023. My most recent academic pursuits have included ongoing courses on classical Chinese poetry and spoken Latin, plus a sprinkle of conversational Old English. I spent the 2024-25 school year completing Peer Review to obtain a K-12 Latin teaching license and student-taught at Rice Memorial High School and The Riverside School. I was honored to join the Mater Christi team as a substitute teacher last spring. I have taught workshops for local homeschoolers since 2015 in a variety of subjects from literature, grammar, and English to British history and ancient studies. I also formerly directed the Hour-Glass Youth Theatre, a small Shakespearean theatre company for Vermont students. Although my interests are wide and varied, they have always stemmed from a fundamental curiosity about life and philosophia (“love of wisdom”). The study of the ancient world is, at its heart, the study of three of these “fundamental curiosities”: Wonder, Beauty, and Humanity. I look forward to bringing these values to students at Mater Christi School.
