In social studies, Kindergarten is focusing on what makes our community unique. We are addressing this topic by identifying and understanding different roles and responsibilities in our community. We are inviting community members in to explain how they benefit the people around them. Our first guest was a Burlington Police Officer, Officer Oren Byrne.
Our students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the equipment used on a daily basis. At the end of the visit, Officer Byrne led the students to the parking lot, where they could explore his Emergency Response Vehicle. This specialized truck carries gear to scenes of crisis.
