News: Mater Christi School Girls Win State Cross Country Championship and Boys Finish Strong

On Sunday, November 1, the Mater Christi School boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Thetford Academy for the 2020 Vermont Middle School State Cross Country Championships. The girls team ended their impressive season with a first-place finish and a Vermont State Cross Country Championship trophy, and the boys team had a great day of running!

Izzy L. led the teams with a win in her heat with a time of 10:55, a 3rd place overall finish in the state, as well as 3rd place in 7th grade girls! Many other MCS runners earned trophies and/or medals for their achievements at the race:

·      Sego J. – 10th place in 8th grade girls (medal)

·      Kate L. – 14th place in 7th grade girls (medal)

·      Madi L. – 1st place in 5th grade girls (trophy and medal)

·      Savannah N. – 2nd place in 5th grade girls (trophy and medal)

·      Bella W. – 5th place in 6th grade girls (medal)

·      Mike N. – 11th place in 6th grade boys (medal)

·      Jackson E. – 5th place in 5th grade boys (medal)
