Teacher Talk: Kindergarten Students Create Symmetrical Butterfly Wings

Kindergarten has been focusing on the life cycle of butterflies. Students have been eagerly and patiently watching the process unfold in their classrooms and finally the butterflies have emerged from their chrysalises! In Art class, students watched a time-lapse video of a Monarch and discussed the meaning of symmetry, specifically in butterfly wings. While taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine, each class took to the sidewalk to create their own symmetrical butterfly wings. ​
