The Mater Christi School Drumline performed at VSA Vermont’s BOOM VT drum festival yesterday at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington. Mrs. Heath, band director, said the MCS drumline “was a hit!” at the successful community event.

Through the BOOM VT drum festival, the Vermont State Organization on Arts & Disability aimed to bring people, with and without disabilities, together through music. The festival featured drum making workshops, drum instruction, talks about the history of drumming and the genres of drumming. They also featured hands on art projects as well as a sound sensitive drumming and exploration room. The culmination of the event will be a community drum circle.
