Tim Loescher

President/Head of School

I am originally from Amherst, Massachusetts, but fell in love with Vermont at Middlebury College, where I graduated in 1994. My career has included a dozen years working as a campus minister at Penn State, UVM, and in universities across northern Germany; two graduate degrees, and two stints teaching and serving in private schools. The second of those stints began here at MCS, where I have served as a substitute teacher, the middle school math teacher, assistant head of school, and, since 2017, as head of school. I consider my role in educating and forming students in our Catholic and Mercy tradition a profound privilege and a great joy. Outside of school, I am an outdoors and sports enthusiast, and love enjoying Vermont’s natural beauty. My greatest joy is being married to my wife, Christa, and following around our five children, all of whom have loved attending MCS!
