Sophie Decker

Preschool Teacher

 

I am a native Vermonter, growing up on the beautiful Champlain Islands. Wanting to stay close to home, I earned my bachelor’s degree and teaching license in Early Childhood Education from the University of Vermont. I have always loved working with children, being creative, and staying involved in the community. I danced competitively for most of my life and have had the joy of teaching dance since the age of 12. This will be my first year at Mater Christi School, and I feel incredibly lucky to continue my teaching journey in a Catholic school community. I have previously taught at other Catholic private schools in Chittenden County, which has given me a strong appreciation for faith-based education and the opportunity to support children both academically and personally.
