Renée Compagna

Technology Support & Makerspace Instructor

I am a lifelong Vermonter who spent my childhood climbing trees and chasing butterflies throughout the Green Mountains. I have spent my life immersed in artistic pursuits; from drawing cartoons on the floor of our new house as a child, to taking countless art classes in high school and college, to sharing my love of art and art history as an educator. I balance out my artistic side with an interest in all things tech. My brain likes to noodle and I love solving problems, especially when it comes to technology. In the past, I have had the opportunity to explore my various interests by creating family-friendly art-themed programming at Shelburne Museum, followed by being the Youth Director and, eventually, IT Director, at Davis Studio. I love teaching art to kids and have taught students from Pre-K to high school in both camp and classroom settings. As an artist, I love to paint, draw, and create mixed media pieces. I enjoy deconstructing and then up-cycling; turning one person’s “junk”into a magical piece of art. I am a photographer and enjoy manipulating & distorting images in fun and unique ways. I am a LEGO enthusiast, massive Star Wars and Doctor Who fan, and I adore laughing and spending time with my two amazing nieces.
