Kristen Littlefield

Grades K-5 Spanish Teacher

I am the proud mother of two grown boys who originally hails from Minnesota. For as long as I
can remember, books and nature have played key roles in guiding me as a teacher, parent,
writer, and illustrator. Over the past twenty-odd years, I have created original curriculum in a
wide variety of public and private schools that is tailored to the specific needs of my students. I
believe that my role as an educator isn’t simply to “get through” units of study, but to inspire a
sense of wonder in children. To me, there is no better catalyst than wonder for creating a
classroom culture where kindness, integrity, and flexible thinking can flourish. So whether
students are learning about the monarch migration in Spanish or or taking a deep dive into
bioluminescent sea life in Literature class, my hope is that when anyone walks into my
classroom, a sense of excitement about learning and life is palpable.
