Kathleen Dean

7th and 8th Grade English Teacher

 

I am originally from Maine and attended Saint Michael’s College, where I studied both English
and Philosophy. I am currently pursuing my M.Ed. in secondary education through the
Providence Alliance for Catholic Teachers (PACT) program. While at Saint Michael’s, my study
abroad experience was centered on Shakespeare, and I had the opportunity to view numerous
productions throughout England during my stay overseas. My language studies also included
earning a minor in French, and I completed coursework in Québec City through Edu-Inter.
Beyond the world of academics, I have always enjoyed athletics, especially softball and field
hockey. I enjoyed four years of playing varsity field hockey for Saint Michael’s College, where I
had the opportunity to grow with and eventually lead a phenomenal group of student-athletes. I
am also passionate about service leadership, and I led several retreats and scripture reflection
seminars while at Saint Michael’s. Across all of my interests, my faith is at the core. Catholic
education has largely brought me where I am today, and it is in Catholic education where my
heart lies. I am so very blessed and excited to be at Mater Christi School!
