Ernie Duncan

Physical Education Teacher

 

I grew up in Evansville, Indiana where sports and physical activity were a huge part of my childhood. I moved to Vermont to attend the University of Vermont, where I played Division 1 basketball for the Catamounts and graduated in 2019 with a degree in Physical Education. I fell in love with the community here and simply haven’t been able to leave! Since graduating, I have worked with young people of all ages through teaching, coaching camps and player development. I currently serve as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Champlain Valley Union High School and am the owner of Duncan Hoops where I work with athletes throughout the year. I am excited to be the Physical Education teacher at Mater Christi School. One of my biggest goals as a teacher is to help students learn how to be great teammates. To me, being a great teammate means encouraging others, communicating positively, giving your best effort, and putting the group ahead of yourself. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife Katie, our daughter Grace and our dog Arya. I’m looking forward to a great year at Mater Christi!
