David Frechette

Board Member

 

David Frechette was born and raised in Boston, MA. He attended Saint Sebastian’s Country Day School in Needham, MA and graduated from Phillips Academy Andover. He earned his BA in political economy from Williams College in 1993.

David has worked in global finance for more than 30 years. Currently David is the Global Head of Private Markets Distribution at Morgan Stanley, headquartered in New York City, NY. His teams are responsible for the coordination and sale of Morgan Stanley’s Private Credit and Private Equity strategies. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in May 2020, David was a Managing Director at BlackRock, where he held various roles in the global credit and private equity businesses, including most recently leading the private equity strategies and private credit strategies teams in the US and Canada. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2012, David was a senior portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2006, Mr. Frechette managed the Private Assets Portfolio at Amaranth Advisors.

Prior to his investment role at Amaranth, David held various positions in leverage finance for more than 13 years, including as a member of the Sponsor Coverage Group at CIBC World Markets, a senior member of CIBC’s London-based capital markets team, a member of High Yield Group at Chase Securities, a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Lehman Brothers and the Argosy Group.

David and his wife, Mika, graduated together and married in 1997. They lived in New York City, London, England and Greenwich, CT before returning to his wife’s home state of VT in 2017. They currently live in North Ferrisburgh with their four children: Harley, a recent graduate of New York University; Michael, a junior at the University of Michigan; Addie, a senior at the Berkshire School; and Bibi, a junior at CVU. Bibi graduated from Mater Christi in 2020.
