Seana Mancini

Middle School English Teacher

Seana Coughlin Mancini grew up in Buffalo, NY and is a graduate of Catholic elementary and middle schools.  Ms. Mancini earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Writing and Political Science from SUNY Potsdam where she met Mr. Mancini who was a Clarkson University grad.  After she earned an M.Ed. with a concentration on Middle School English from Canisius College in Buffalo, she married then US Army Captain Mancini, who’s obligation once met, retired and then began her 23 year teaching career in both public and parochial schools in North Carolina, Georgia, and New York.  In addition to her middle school experience, she has 8 years of early childhood program administration she was the founding director of the preschool that currently stands at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch Georgia and co-development the preschool program and St. Louis School in Pittsford, NY, and several years working on the Elementary level as a school library and reading coordinator. Ms. Mancini holds a certificate in Gifted Education from UNC Charlotte and the College of North GA. She truly loves middle school the most. When Siena Catholic Academy, the only stand alone Catholic Middle School program in Rochester, NY at the time opened their first 6th grade program and piloted a Google 1:1 program, Mrs. Mancini developed the Humanities program from scratch along with her STEM co-teacher.  Among these marvellous adventures the Mancini’s have 4 children Jack; a Syracuse Univ. grad who lives and works in Boston; Evan, a senior at Stony Brook Univ. majoring in physics and applied mathematics; Emma Kate, a junior at UVM studying exercise science; and Owen a Mater Christi middle schooler.

Hobbies  Reading – Historical fiction and YA – she’s read all but 15 of the Newbery Award books and tries to predict who will win every year.  Her dogs – she has 3: Ruby, Rose and Rory, her cat Cinder, and the class pets: The Turtle and hedgehog named Charles Wallace
