Patricia LaMothe

Kindergarten Teacher

Patty grew up on a farm in Ohio where she played and worked in cooperation with others and alone. Her childhood was full of life outside, school, church, and family. As an adult, she has traveled extensively in North America and South/Southeast Asia.  She has lived in three countries other than the United States and has communicated in two languages other than English for long periods of time.

Patty has had the privilege of teaching children as young as three years old and adults as old as fifty years old. She has taught in Vermont, East Timor, Cambodia, British Columbia (Canada), Ohio, and Montana.  She held certification for teaching elementary school in Ohio and in British Columbia for many years, but currently holds a Professional Educator’s Level II License in Vermont as well as certification in Montana. Facilitating learning is her vocation, it is her lifelong passion, it brings her fulfillment. She is grateful for the opportunity to help your child learn and grow in many areas this year. Patty’s heart sings when a child’s eyes light up with learning while they are working together.

The things that bring her joy other than teaching are hiking, camping, riding bikes, cross country skiing, reading, gardening, and visiting friends. Patty and her husband share a love of the outdoors that has taken them on many adventures in state and national parks. They really like hiking to and in the high alpine above tree line!
