Mary Farley

Music Teacher

Mary Farley grew up on Long Island in New York and, according to her mother, began singing and acting before she could walk!
She was blessed to have the Sisters of Mercy as her teachers from elementary through middle school, and their guiding light has always been a positive influence.  Mary has served as both a cantor and parish music director at varying locations since she was a teenager and had extensive experience in planning liturgical music.   She has performed in musicals, dramas, comedies, and choirs in New York, New England, and Internationally.
Mary holds her BA in English from Long Island University, C.W. Post, and an MBA with a focus on International Business from Suffolk University.   She lived in China for 3 years, where she applied her musical ear to learning Mandarin.  Mary’s career has crisscrossed from executive and leadership roles to using her certification as an early childhood music specialist and back again.  She became a Mater Christi parent in 2018 and in 2019 led the MCS Fall Musical “Days and Dreams” as a parent volunteer.  Leading the music classes across all grades allows her to spread joy in ever-changing times.  There is always a reason to sing!
Favorites:  The NY Yankees, traveling, singing (of course!), and golf!
Best Mater Christi Moments:  When the students get a performance opportunity and NAIL IT!
