Why Mater Christi?
A long tradition of academic excellence and high achievement standards lay the foundation for learning at Mater Christi School. However, it extends far beyond just expectations. Each student is carefully supported along their academic journey to make sure that we are doing everything we can to provide them with multiple learning opportunities specific to their learning style. With each challenge presented by the teachers, there is an opportunity for students to take hold of authentic learning that will prepare them for success in high school and beyond.
Mater Christi School is an independent school with accreditation by both the State of Vermont and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. We are afforded the unique opportunity, unlike public schools, to be able to constantly create and refine our curriculum and standards to best fit our student population and the rapidly evolving society. This means that we are able to use the Common Core State Standards, as well as the VT Grade Level Expectations and Standards and other research supported standards as guides to help support our decisions regarding what skills need to be taught at certain ages. It also provides us with new methodologies for teaching while delivering lessons in multiple styles to help meet the best learning style for each student.
