Fifth Grade Annual Boston Field Trip

May 14, 2026

Our fifth graders recently enjoyed an unforgettable day exploring the rich history of the American Revolution during their annual field trip to Boston and Lexington, a cherished Mater Christi School tradition that students eagerly anticipate each year.

This special experience is made possible through the hard work and dedication of our fifth grade students, who proudly fundraise throughout the year by selling popcorn to help support the trip. Their efforts allow them to take learning beyond the classroom and experience history firsthand.

Throughout the day, students walked through the historic streets of Boston, visited important Revolutionary War landmarks, and traveled to Lexington, the site of the first battle of the American Revolution. They also had the opportunity to enjoy lunch with fellow fifth graders from St. John’s School, creating meaningful connections and memories along the way. One of the highlights of the day was a stop at the famous Mike’s Pastry in Boston’s North End, a favorite tradition among students year after year.

Most importantly, our fifth graders represented Mater Christi School with pride through their enthusiasm, curiosity, and respectful behavior throughout the trip.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our parents for their continued support and especially to our dedicated chaperones for giving their time and energy to make this long but rewarding day possible. A special thank you as well to Kurt Lunde for capturing so many wonderful moments from the trip and sharing them with our school community.

Experiences like these help bring history to life and create lasting memories our students will carry with them for years to come.

A special thank you to Mrs. Glenda Bedard, Ms. Megan Shields, and Mr. Jason Moore for making the field trip memorable.
