Jeffrey Firlik

Board Member

 

Jeffrey Firlik has returned to the Mater Christi Board of Trustees after serving 2 terms from 2018 to 2024 as a member, and as chair from 2019 to 2022 and again in 2024. He is a retired Pharmacist. Jeff earned his Pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy, a Master of Science in Administration from Saint Michael’s College, leadership certification from Cornell University, and completed Doctor of Pharmacy coursework at the University of Florida. He also completed health care software certifications from Epic Systems and Eclipsys (now Allscripts).

Jeff served for 17 years as Director of Outpatient Pharmacies and then as Senior Director of Pharmacy at what is now UVM Medical Center. He was a Managing Consultant for 10 years at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), aiding clients across the U.S. in implementing Electronic Health Records and improving Pharmacy business processes.

Since retiring from CSC, he was an instructor at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Colchester Campus, and served in interim pharmacy leadership roles at two Vermont community hospitals. Jeff served on several health care related advisory boards and committees at the state and federal level including two terms on the Vermont Board of Pharmacy and two years as board chair.

In 2022, Jeff was awarded the “Bowl of Hygeia” by the American Pharmacists Association in recognition of his community service as a pharmacist in Vermont. In 2025, he was recognized as a “Distinguished Alumni” by Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He became a Mercy Associate in 2019 to support the mission of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.

Jeff has been a Catholic music minister for over 40 years. He plays guitar and sings at masses in several area Catholic churches, and Saint Anne’s Shrine. During COVID isolation he started posting hymns and folk songs to YouTube at “JeffinVT.”

He enjoys woodworking, skiing and camping. He uses his handyman and woodworking skills as a volunteer for the local Agewell “Capable” program to assure safe living environments for elderly and disabled Vermonters.

Jeff lives in Williston with his wife, Luanne. He has two adult children who attended Mater Christi and two grandchildren who are current or former Mater Christi students.
