On Tuesday, November 11th, students in 5B hosted a prayer service paying tribute to veterans. The fifth graders enthusiastically outlined the origins of Veterans Day, connecting the values and actions of those individuals who have served our country to the messages of faith and devotion found in the Gospels. A slide presentation displayed each student’s journey of reflection, as they visited different veterans memorials in our local communities. Afterwards, the fifth graders spoke thoughtfully about their experiences visiting the memorials.
MCS parent Major Mike Rolleta participated in the prayer service, sharing his unique and admirable experiences and insight as a veteran and as a current F-35 pilot with Vermont’s Air National Guard. This meaningful and reflective commemoration demonstrated the respect and admiration our community has for those who have served and continue to serve our country so nobly.
