Dear Mater Christi Families:
The countdown is underway as we finish up the 2016-2017 school year. Yesterday your children experienced “Step-Up Day” where they had the opportunity to visit the grade they will be in next year and meet their new teacher(s). I know that many students enjoyed having the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at next year, however, I also know that all of them are also looking forward to the quieter days of summer when they can relax and have a little down time. The next several days will be a whirlwind of activities as classes wrap-up the school year and go on end-of-the-year field trips. Let’s just say, we’ve got a lot going on through Thursday, June 15!
This week our school will be graduating 53 outstanding eighth grade students on Thursday evening. This fine group of young people has distinguished themselves through not only their outstanding scholarship, but also through how they have treated one another and served as leaders for our school this year. Each of these young people has been firmly grounded in Mercy values and are well prepared academically, spiritually, and interpersonally to move on to high school with both competence and confidence. We are so very proud of our eighth grade graduates and know that each of them is off to great places!
As we prepare to wrap-up the school year, you are asked to return all school books and materials so these can be inventoried by our staff. In addition, you are asked to check your family’s tuition account, after-school care account, and lunch account balance and rectify any outstanding balances. We have quite a few families who have outstanding lunch account balances and we would like these taken care of since our fiscal year ends on June 30, 2017. Your cooperation and attention to remitting payment is much appreciated and necessary for us to finish the fiscal year in a positive financial position.
I hope that you have a wonderful week ahead!
