Today the Mater Christi School community celebrated the Feast of All Saints with a Mass. The fifth graders with guidance from their religion teacher, Ms. Leah Easley, led the Mass Readings. They began with this opening reading:
“Welcome, Mater Christi School community, to
our All Saints Day Mass. Our Church, the Body of Christ, is
beautiful and diverse, and today we celebrate
Saints from many backgrounds and ways of life:
fathers and mothers, grown-ups and children. All Saints is a high
and holy day in the life of the Church. On the Feast
of All Saints, we thank God for the fellowship we
share with that great cloud of witnesses who has
gone before us. Adults and children, kings and
queens, the wealthy and the poor, black and white.
They all loved God, their neighbors, and our world
in powerful ways. Please join me as we thank God
for the lives of all his saints.”
