MCS Band Students Perform at the District III Music Festival

February 1, 2016

On Saturday, January 30th, 276 students from our greater Burlington area performed at the 2016 7th & 8th grade District III Music Festival at Essex Middle School. The concert was amazing – full of new, demanding and challenging music. Extremely qualified and talented guest conductors, from outside our district, were invited to rehearse and conduct the ensembles to give the students a fresh and exciting experience. They rehearsed all day Friday and Saturday morning.

Participating schools include: Albert D. Lawton, Brown’s River, Camel’s Hump, Charlotte Central, Edmunds, Essex Middle School, Frederick Tuttle, Hinesburg Community School, Hunt, Waldorf, Mater Christi School, Shelburne Community school, Westward, Williston Central, Winooski Middle School.

MCS had seven talented students, plus one who takes band at MCS,  who auditioned in November and were chosen to participate. Many Mater Christi band students have often held many of the first chair positions!
