UVM’s Project MICRO Visits the MCS Pre-School

June 4, 2014

The Microscopy Imaging Center at University of Vermont, in conjunction with the Microscopy Society of America (Official)(MSA), began Project MICRO in 1999 which is a nation-wide outreach program. With a kit provided by MSA, Project MICRO is typically aimed at middle aged children, allowing students to rotate through 10 learning activities including investigating sand, pond life, bugs, etc. Dr. Andreas Koenig from UVM’s Immunobiology Department, brought Project MICO to Mrs. Gazo’s Pre-School class and the students were able to closely examine plants and insects.
