Matt McKinnon was born and raised in Little Compton, RI, a small seaside town an hour south of Boston. He attended Bishop Stang High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, and was a letter winner in football, indoor track, baseball, and rowing. He attended the University of Rhode Island where he played football for one season. He graduated with a degree in Political Science and immediately moved to Stratton, Vermont to teach at a local school and coach snowboarding. While teaching, coaching, and working in the residential department at a boarding school in central Massachusetts, Matt completed his Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Ohio University. Shortly after, he began teaching in Portsmouth, RI and served as Assistant Offensive Coordinator for the high school football team. In addition to teaching at Mater Christi, Matt will serve as the Offensive Coordinator for Rice Memorial High School’s football team in South Burlington.
