Jonnifer Moorhead
MATH SPECIALIST

Now entering my 19th year as an educator, I am thrilled to return to the Mater Christi community! I was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, the middle of three siblings. Growing up, I enjoyed long distance running, skiing, classical oboe performance, and I truly loved school. I graduated from Williams College, where I met my husband, John. I continued on after college to complete my Master’s Degree at Middlebury College and La Sorbonne, University of Paris.
I have always enjoyed the challenge of the problem-solving component of mathematics, and I am lucky that my role as a teacher has often allowed me to pursue two passions of mine, math and French language! Over the course of my career, I have taught math and French, coached a running club, acted as a student advisor and served as department chair at Greenwich Academy (Greenwich, CT) and The Meadowbrook School of Weston (Weston, MA). I have developed curricula for both French and math, financial literacy and a cooking elective. After our son, James was born, I moved with my family to South Burlington. Most recently, I have served as the middle school math coordinator here at Mater Christi, where I focus my energy on individual and small group math support and enrichment, as well as teaching a financial literacy elective to middle school students. I am joined at Mater Christi by my two children, James (11) and McKenna (9). Outside of the classroom, I enjoy parenting, competitive long distance running, downhill and cross-country skiing, and have earned my chef’s certificate in culinary arts at the Cambridge Culinary Institute in Boston.
